I know this is kind of an old news. I want to know exactly why Dirk Lance left the band? He was my favorite!

According to wikipedia, there are a number of speculations as to why he left the band. Some of these reasons include:
-Fighting with the band
-Creative differences
-Wanting to spend more time with his wife

He's more recently been associated with a jam/funk band named Willie's Nerve Clinic.
