Guilt works into your mind very quickly if you regret something you have done in your past. For some, it stays rooted in their hearts and does not budge. For others, it comes and goes easily. People are different. It also depends on how much one regrets a certain event that took place.

Your question is very vague...here is an attempt to answer it.
In its simplest form guilty means you did that which you are accused of. You did it!
If you are found guilty in a court of law then you would have to pay a penalty. The penalty could be anything from probation to a death sentence.

your guilty of asking this question. that's how simple it is. if you did it your guilty.
guilty in the justice system has nothing to do with reality, there it is, can we prove you did it.
feeling guilt on the other hand, has to do with a belief someone else has suffered as a result of our actions.

When you do something bad that you know you shouldn't had and you get that feeling that you should go back and change it.
