Most democrats say that they support abortion not because they believe in it but that they don't have the right to tell a woman what they can or can't do with their own body. They say that they stand up for peoples rights but the truth is that they only defend you if they agree with you. For instance do democrats defend my right to own a gun, drive a gas guzzling suv, protect my children from sex offenders? Even the water that my toilet uses is dictated by a law that they thought up to take my rights. It seems to me that democrats hide behind this image that they are the party that will stick up for my rights when in fact they are systematically trying to take them all away. Does anyone else see this hypocrisy?

As for those that bring up the fact that Bush signs everything that passes his desk, that is the only complaint that I have with him.

The right to own a gun is a constitutional one. No where are guaranteed the right to kill your child just because you are lazy or selfish.

You left out income-redistribution, national healthcare, amnesty for illegal immigrants, an open border policy and no agenda for the war on terror. Yeah, they're looking out for your rights - like the fox that's guarding the chicken coop!

Otherwise, your point is well taken.

The Constitution is out-of-date when it comes to guns for the following reasons:

When it was drafted, losing independence was an issue and it is not anymore. If everybody had the right to own a gun then it is faster, easier and cheaper to raise an army. The USA has a professional army, one of the best in the world. Raising an army to defend its independence is not an issue. Any kind of weapon should be restricted to law enforcement and the military. Any device that makes killing easier and faster should be banned.

It would make law enforcement much easier. Less police would get shot.

Trying to cover all bases, the following may cover your counter arguments:

Self-defense: people would like to use a gun to defend themselves from criminals. Even if guns were taken away from the citizens, people would still rape, beat, and murder other people. However, victims stand a bigger chance to reach safety beacuse less criminals would have access to weapons. Also, to pull the trigger when you are mad has a greater consequence than a punch on the eye. I do not endorse domestic violence. I am just pointing out that people that pull the trigger when mad are equally violent and unable to control their emotions as a person that hits another person for any reason other than self-defense. Violence is not acceptable.

Contraband: Yes, people will find a way to smuggle weapons. So, why should we spend a lot of tax-payer's har-earned money to ban guns? There is no ultimate solution for crime, not even gun control. As long as people make bad choices there will be crime. What gun control does is make killing people less easy. Is that something we should want for our society? Yes, that should be the goal of both Republicans and Democrats.

Totalitarian society: should George W. Bush become the supreme leader of the USA, and human rights be limited, shouldn't people have the right to own a gun and revolt? I don't think that is going to happen. If you live in a totalitarian society, this is my advice: there about 200 countries in the world, move to another country. However, if you don't wan't to move for whatever reason, there are always some things you could do to change your country, big and small. If you are a powerful person you can do bigger things to make your country a better place to live in. If you are a regular Joe, do the small stuff.

You are so petty and uninformed. GO to the DNC website and you will see just how the Democrats will stand up for the rights of ALL americans:

I am a democrat and and re quotes:
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&"For instance do democrats defend my right to own a gun - yes I do, but not a semi automatic;
drive a gas guzzling suv- yes I do, oops I have 3 of them;
protect my children from sex offenders= yes I do I have 2 daughters and approve all laws. Dont apprve of all republican congress and senate that get nothing done - need more protectionary laws;"&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Most Republicans want to save the foetus but are happy to kill 600,000 Iraqi civilians, happy to bomb abortion clinics, shoot doctors whith those guns you want so badly.

Dont talk about hypocrisy when Republicans are morally bancrupt, bush and cheney the worst lying Predient/VP ever and actually ran on a "no Lie" ticket. Get real friend. Please email me after you read the DNC website and what they are going to do; in exchange I will read the Republican website, BUT you first.

Uh... I don't want to take your gun, don't care if you drive an SUV, and I would want you to protect your children from sex offenders...

and I don't care how much water your toilet uses... (I doubt that's really a democratic issue...hahaha... I've not heard about that one)

some may care about some of these issues... many do not...

Okay, exactly what rights are you trying to protect? You opened the question in additions, on abortion. Do you have a girlfriend or wife that is pregnant? Maybe she thinks you would be a piss poor father and she isn't ready or willing to take on the responsibility to raise a child on her own. After all, being a single parent will fall on her shoulders at the end of the day.

The rest of your junk I will not acknowledge in full, because driving is a privilege not a right and water is not just yours it is every bodies.

Take Care

Speaking of taking away your rights.......your Republican friends took the constition and flushed it down the toilet.

Warrantless wiretaps, patriot act, and all sorts of laws to take away your rights.

There are over 6000 laws the Republican Congress has introduced since 2004. Not bad huh? All trying to take away your rights, that you claim to care about.
