well i got to hear my baby's heart beat, it was a nice strong beat at 164 p/m. so i have heard that if the baby's heart beat is over 160 its going to be a boy and if under this number its a girl. personally i dont read much into these "folk tales" but at times i wonder. i have also heard that if a pregnant women craves salty foods its a boy and if she craves sweets its a girl (im always craving spicy, salty, and sour foods) another one that i heard is if the expectent mother gets sick early on its a boy and if she doesnt get sick from the start its a girl. so what are some other things you have heard? and you think these are more fact, fiction, or just made up folk tales?

If you let yourself go during pregnancy it is a girl she is stealing your looks. If you carry high its a girl, low its a boy, hairier than normal legs its a boy, if your butt gets larger its a boy, if you carry to the front its a girl if you share to the side its a boy, shapes like a watermelon its a girl, shaped like a ball its a boy. You have a 50/50 chance w/ these lol!

Those are old wives tales...
My sister and I craved exactly the same things while prgnant with each of our children (we each have 3 children mine being 3-4 months older than each of hers) She has 3 boys I have 2 girls and a boy (we craved dill pickles chips with hersheys syrup) ... I had horrible morning sickness with all 3 of my pregnancies she never had a day of morning sickness...
I think people who believe in the wifes tale create a self fulfilling prophacy... When they have a boy they remember craving certain foods or having morning sickness at a certain time... While excluding all data that could point the other way...
While the old wives tales can be fun I don't put much stock in them ... Yes at my baby shower we played the wedding ring on a string game if it sways across the body its a girl if it sways up and down the body its a boy ( it swayed up and down) shes a girl... We also did the sweet and salty test a plate with pickles and candy and chips and other salty and sweet treats was placed near me to nibble at the end of the shower I had eaten more sweets than salty ( It was a girl) and we uses a stethescope to count the babied heartbeat it was 165.... But alas my daughter is most definately a daughter even if she dresses up like Cinderella to dig in the backyard... The games were alot of fun though and everyone enjoyed playing especially knowing I would show them the ultrasound pics at the end of the evening and reveil what technology said :)
Yup the ultrasound was 100% correct with a straigh on view of a girl no questions at all. My daughter was very cooperative in showing her bits in the ultrasound LOL

All babies are different. My first's heartbeat was fast at 160+. I was never sick and I carried all over. It was a girl. My next one's heart beat was lower than 160, I was sick all the time and I only carried in the front. It was another girl. Take it as you will. You the only REALy way to know what the baby's sex is is when it is born. ;)

Very much fiction. I have 4 children and they were all different. The heartbeat for my firstborn was close to 170...I had a girl then my 2nd childs was so much lower around 135 and it was a boy then my 3rd was again fast so I assumed that it would be another girl...but I had a boy. Just for fun, try the chinese predictor. It was fun and actually correct all 4 times.

It is actually the other way around fast for girls slow for boys. It is just an old wives tale. I think that back in the days before the ultrasound was invented it was a why to guess and see who was right, just games for fun.

fiction / old wives tale
just like if you raise your arms over your head it wont wrap the cord around the babys throat, the reason behind that wives tale- back in the old days woman had to hang the clothes on the line out side to dry, there for they told the men they cant raise up their arms cuz they didnt want to do the work cuz when you are pregnant your tired ex.......
