Thomas Jefferson said it best
"If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as the souls who live under tyranny."

The only substance that should be legalized is marihuana. It is and has been used by a large number of people just as beer and liquor have been for years now. Not only can it be an alternative for people who don't drink, it does have its medical values also. Its usage can be dictated by laws akin to beer and liquor, for adults only with punishment for abuse or negligence. We have put up with all the negative afflictions caused by drinking which far outweigh anything anybody can come up with about pot usage. All of the lies and cover-ups used in governmental propaganda have been brought to air. The real war on drugs needs to be fought against real drugs, man-made drugs, drugs made for addiction, meth, heroin, cocaine, etc. We noticed in our area here that, when drug testing became more widespread, and people found they couldn't pass due to pot smoking, the use of meth started to rise due to the fact you can eliminate its traces way quicker and easier before testing. I personally have friends who changed to harder drugs when their pot use was put in jeopardy. None of these people had anything to do with harder drugs up to that point and most of them were not drinkers either. Whatever your view, you have to admit that society will always have to have that thing to "take the edge off" and I think its time to allow an alternative to drinking. Just the tax dollars alone that can be made from legal sales should be an incentive.

Selling and Using Drugs are against the public interest and got nothing to do with an individual's decision. It constitute an act against the community wellbeing in which the justice system obligated to act. Now, the punishment of 20 years could be challenged, as the punishment should not constitute cruel or unusual.
In Canada, I discovered that Toronto and Montreal Police, Lawyers and Judges were involved in Heroin import from IRAN. I filed action T-1900-96 at Federal Court against them. Canadian Police and Judges arrested me and tortured me for my lawful action. I am positive that most of Heroin in USA comes from Canada and certain corrupt officials of Canada, USA & IRAN directly involved in these crimes?

Those drugs turn people into destitute, desperate people who lose their teeth, self respect and quality of life. They end up robbing and murdering others to support their habit and I don't see how this gives them such a "control" over their life. These people lose their very souls to the drugs they use and their existence is the most pitiful.

Um no. Drug laws are not harsh enough. Look what it does to your mind and body. Crime rises and unemployment goes up and society just becomes a mess. I have done every drug you can think of for years. I am not clean and it's going on 3 years. I was lucky of never getting caught and even luckier to have gotten myself clean.

"Let everyone control their own body" .. very interesting. So what you're saying is if you are high on drugs and you're driving down the road, you can kill me or my entire family and they should let you off with no penalty whatsoever? So much for controlling your own body - if you kill someone, whose life are you controlling?

Sure, as long as product liability laws apply to the dealers, suppliers, and manufacturers, and the users are not allowed to claim impairment, temporary insanity, or any other malady during their trials for manslaughter, property damage, rape, or any other crime they committ while out of their frigging minds.
