Every librarian I've met has been quite literate -in fact, a few of them have doctorate degrees.

Yep, and they should learn manners and discipline, I am a librarian for 3 years in my school, most of the time, they are late for their duty and doesn't respect their seniors. When someone ask them about a word, they just say "Refer to the dumb dictionary".
