If you want a good book try these-some are great in the way that they make you think about things and how it all works, one will frighten you in how graphic and real it is and it scares you thinking how cruel people can be, one will make you smile because you know exactly the person the author is talking about, not in the book, but in your life. But all these books are really good books.

"A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer(If you read this and want to know more there are more books by Dave Pelzer, but this is not a series book that you have to keep reading them all to the end)

"The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Albom

"Skipping Christmas" by John Grishim

"A Lesson Befor Dying" by Earnest J. Gaines

For fiction you must read the Harry Potter series.

For non-fiction. Depends on your interest.
Mine are not what the average person reads. I like Thomas Merton, St. John of the Cross, Depak Chopra, some of the Buddhist authors, books about Shamanism, things on mind-body healing, and I try to make a point of reading the top 5 of the best seller list for non-fiction just to keep up with current events when talking to people.

I love studying new things. Recently I have been reading about Alchemy. My next great adventure will be to read Thomas Aquinas. Told you.. no normal person reads this stuff. But I find it very interesting.

King Fortis the Brave is one of my personal favorites. It's about a pair of twins who are brought into a magical world where they have to learn to stop fighting with each other if they are to survive the experience. It's full of adventure and humor, and nearly every chapter ends in a cliff hanger of some sort. I highly recommend it for any library!

1) the godfather by mario puzo (one of my favourites and so so so much better than the movies - you will never watch the movies after reading these books)
2) sleepers by lorenzo carcaterra (the only book that has ever made me cry - its based on a true story)
3) the bachman books by richard bachman (a collection of 4 stories written by stephen king under his pen-name richard bachman - not typical king blood-and-gore, these books really make you think about what makes other people tick)
4) an equal music by vikram seth (beautifully written and really appealed to me as im a classical musician)
5) 1984 by george orwell (a standard classic showing a bleak vision of the future and the rebellion of those who want more from life)

Well, I don't know what types of books you like to read but I really enjoyed Gondar (Nicholas Luard) really hard to find cause it's out of print. Memoirs of a Geisha ( Arthur Golden) The Dark Elf Series (R.A. Salvatore) The Loch (Steve Alten) Clan of the Cave Bear (Jean Aeul) oldie but goodie.Martian Tales ( Edgar Rice Burroughs) Also a hard find cause they are out of print. but they are very short and very imaginative little sci-fi books. I'm very eclectic when it comes to reading. Obviously
