I cannot beleive i just read that LBJ started vietnam and FDR started World War II in one sentence in the post above.
wow. So FDR invaded France?
To answer the question however, No, and the U.S. doesnt really have a history of starting wars in general. But if you want to find one started by a Democrat, Korea might be considered one, that was under Truman.

As far as "started" a war, that is too much of an open question. As far as which party was in the Oval Office when the most Americans died in armed conflict, that is Republican claim on history. Just add up the Civil War casualties and also the combat figures from the Viet Nam escalation years and the blood tax on Americans is pretty huge. Both of those had Republicans micro-managing the generals.
You see, Viet Nam was never a "war" declared by Congress. The Gulf War was never declared by Congress. The Iraq War was never declared by Congress. The Panama Operation Just Cause was never declared by Congress. The Korean War was never declared by Congress. War implies we will occupy territory militarily and dictate what form of government is in place.

Well-lets see- There were no republicans around for the revolutionary war. There were no republicans around for the war of 1812. There WERE republicans around for the civil war, but I dont remember any republican military units. Hey!, there were republican military units in the Spanish civil war! The K aiser seems to have started world war one, Hitler and Hirohito seem to have started world war two. North Korea seems to have started the Korean war.N orth Vietnam seems to have started the Vietnamese war-HM! I'm seeing no pattern here whatsoever.

Democrats- Truman, FDR , The Kennedy sent in advisors to support an unpopular government in Viet Nam, and LBJ escalated the fighting trying to win the war and stop the spread of Communism. We have went to war to stop aggression [Hitler's Germany] to stop the spread of Communism, so its not a political party, more like political philosophy. I believe it was Nixon [ rep] that ended Viet Nam

because plenty people (electorate) in that party pushes and helps warfare. and they are continuously searching to the authorities to purchase more and more guns to apply in a warfare, yet do not elect to be taxed for the guns. This united states of america does no longer elect better guns or better wars. that's no longer the answer. and also you're basically attempting to exhibit this right into a Democratic fault. The "dems" aren't to any extent further those that I see who're continuously yelling for warfare and better guns each and every of the time.

WW I, WW II, and Korea all started whenj the Democrats were in office. This does not mean that these wars were the fault of the parties in office.

By opposing the Patriot Act, terrorist surveillance missile defense and even interrogating the most dangerous terrorists captured on the battlefield, Democrats are in direct opposition to the vital tools we use to fight terrorism.
