not everyone feels that hollister is expensive. instead most people i know think that their clothes are overpriced, (ie $25 for a polo shirt/$30 for a cami)...it's vary on the individuals though, some people have a higher income so they have the ability to splurge, but while others are working for a low-wage job, hollister could be quite pricey for them as they won't have much money left at the end of the month where most of their money has gone into rent, phone bills, etc...

Because some people don't have their parents funding their unnecessary expenses anymore, so they have to work for their money and pay their bills because they're adults now.
Their style is ugly, the store itself and the people who shop in it give off an attitude that is so unappealing, as in "we're too good for people that can't afford this".
And this is to Raven below me...Even if I could afford to shop there and there was a time I could...I still would not. I seriously do think their clothes are hideous, but maybe that's because I'm not warped like the rest of the young adults on this earth into think..."if I shop at this store people will like me and I'll be cool". I prefer Gothic clothing, contemporary styles, not something that has to be recognized from the label on the outside, or wrinkled ripped up pants that somehow made it to be a fashion statement or drabby colors or any of the rest of that prep crap. I'm sorry, I have taste...! And lose the valley girl talk...it went out 10 years ago.

It depends on how much a person has to spend. If a person only shops at Walmart, then Hollister will be expensive. But, Hollister is not much more expensive than Target. I don't shop at Hollister; my style is different. But I hope it does not fall apart right before your eyes like the clothes at Target which is overpriced junk!
If you want to see expensive, hit the stores/boutiques on Melrose! Cute stuff but $$$$$.

The bigger question is why do people waste their money on that stuff. Hollister, A&F, banana rep, gap. Good grief.
Real designer clothes are where its at... Stay away from stripmall cookie cutter brands. Most of that stuff is made in sweat shops in third world countries, and then they just get a label slapped on over their "made in china" one. ewww.

it isn't expensive, it just isn't worth what they're charging. each polo costs around $0.30 cents and they're selling it for $25. you're basically paying for the little bird on the front. many people see past the trend and find the exact polo at target for $12. so what? is it really that big of a deal?

I guess it depends on the person and what their income is and what they can spend on cloths, compared to Target or Walmart, they are expensive, but compared to Macys or Nordstroms they arent. I personally for what it is think it is reasonably priced

i dont think that they think it is actually expensive its just that the clothes are not worth the price. for the price you pay they are so ugly. you wouldnt pa ten dollars for a mcdonalds cheeseberger because you know its only worth a dollar. same applies with the clothes
