Forgive means they don't hold it against you anymore. Not to forget means they will always remember what you did and wonder if you're going to do it again.

If they don't forget, then they truly haven't forgiven. People these days don't really know what forgiveness means. Forgiveness means forgetting and never bringing it up again, like Christ does for us if we ask for his forgiveness. The Bible says he throws your sins as far as the east is from the west. That is an infinite distance in science terms becasue east never meets west. Good thing he didn't say, North from south, cause then our sins would always come back up to haunt us. You just have to learn to forgive them and not worry about their side of the issue if you are truly sincere.

Forgiving is to get rid of the anger... its more for yourself, so you can move on from something. Forgetting is a completely different thing. To forget means a lesson wasn't learned... and thats never a good thing.

Remembering will keep the mind alert enough so that whatever you've been forgiven for will have little chance of occuring again without being immediately recognized. While the heart can forgive the mind must forever remember, lest the heart be once more deceived.

When you're forgiving, you just might want to make the person feel better. Or, the person could be asking you for their forgiveness, and you accept on the spot. However, once you sit down and think, you ponder over the situation.

to forgive is to get rid of one's anger towards a person/situation. But it's important to not forget it so that you don't repeat that again in the future. Learn the lesson the first time so you don't get tripped up by it again and again.

Well think of it like this,
Suppose someone took a great big knife and cut off your Penis.
Man that **** would hurt right.
And I'll almost guarantee that everytime you were to look at a knife,
it would remind you of that day.
and the loss of your penis.
scarey thought huh!
