While discussing some of the worst NFL teams of all time, the first one that always comes to mind is the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only because they failed to post a win the entire season, but because of the way they did it.
The Bucs were shut out five times in 14 games and were outscored 412-125 on the season. The offense averaged an anemic 77 yards per game on the ground and 137 passing yards per game.
All the blame could not be placed on the offense though. The defense was run over by virtually every team they played, giving up an average of over 170 yards on the ground and 340 total net yards per game.
The Buccaneers were not only good at losing, but they were good at losing big. The average margin of victory for the opposition was 20.5 points per game, and four times during the course of the season the competition scored 40 points or better.

the only team since the supebowl era was the '76 bucs who went 0-14 and then lost the first 12 games of the next season... But in 79 the went to the nfc championship game... Interesting trivia: Steve Spurrier was the QB of the '76 bucs...

Not only did my Bucs lose every game in 1976 when the NFL had a 14 game schedule they came one game away in 1977 from doing it two years in a row, but they beat the Saints in their last game. They do hold the NFL's longest losing streak at 0-27. Hell yeah go Bucs.
