They won because of the poor performance by the Tigers pitching staff.

The Cardinals won the World Series because the Tigers had six days of rest. That might sound like a good thing, but it really isn't. You're better off playing everyday, that way you stay physical, and you can figure out your mistakes.

Because the Tigers made many errors, and the Cardinals played better overall. I'm very happy the Cards are World Series Champs!

Because as a team the Tigers batted only .199 and their ERA was 3.00 plus they gave up 8 unearned runs.
Compare that with the Cardinals only .228 avg., an ERA of 2.05, and giving up only 1 unearned run.
The Tigers gave up 23 bases on balls compared to only 8 for the Cardinals. They were outscored 2 to 1 (22 to 11).

they won the world series simply because the tigers failed to do the little things... their pitching didnt know how to handle comebackers.. minus the cheating kenny rogers... and, it seemed as though the tigers werent ready for the type of game that is mostly played in the national league, small ball. unlike the cardinals, the tigers werent moving runners over, and doing all the small things to win games. if they had any chance, they would have needed rogers to pitch every game.

The Tigers were off for 2 long nd got really rusty. plus the best pitching always wins the championship. Carpenter is the best pitcher in the nl. weaver nd suppan pitched the greatest they ever had nd they shut down a great met lineup nd was able 2 shut down a rusty tiger offense. even though the tigers were the better team. worst team 2 ever win rhe ws by far

I don't ask why I am just greatful the Cardinals won. If our team didn't win it would've been a disappointment. From what I hear the Tigers weren't playing their best. Anybody else who says otherwise is just jealous.

Because the Tigers fell apart defensively. Plus their 3,4,5 hitters batted less than .200 for the 5 game series. Hell, the little league world champs could have beat them.

the cardinals won because they pitched the best, got the clutch hits, was blessed with timely rain outs.and all the young players stepped up their game.they played harder.and Detroit committed way too many errors and mistakes.

Timely pitching, timely hitting and good defense along with the untold errors the Tigers kept making. This should have been the tigers series but they flubbed it away.
