Having clots during your period is normal. All the clots are, are skin from when the egg (inside you) is coming out. The area is being squeezed and causes the clots and blood. I have clots too. It is normal and you have nothing to worry about. I'm 13 and in my health class we had a quest speaker come and talk to us girls. go to www.beinggirl.com and it will tell you facts and have things that every girl should know about her period.
Hope this helps!!!

I used to get HUGE clots... like the size of a tampon! Remember that it's not really your blood clotting though- it's just the lining of your uterus shedding in large pieces rather than smaller ones. I got way fewer clots two times: when I went back on the birth control pill, and the other time was when I started eating a super-healthy macrobiotic diet.

It's perfectly normal to have clots. I used to get really big clots when I was younger, but after having kids, I don't really have a problem with them any more. I think that you should be concerned if they're bigger than a half-dollar or if you soak through more than one pad per hour - I'd recommend seeing a doctor then.

Hope this helps.

Hate to step in here when not invited but, there are certain things taking place during menstruation.. First... menstrual blood does not clot.. Next... the process of menstruation is to sluff of the lining of the uterus or endometrium, which may show up in clumps... Next.. if there is frank blood (bright red) then you do have a problem.

I had clots when i had my period I just recently had a hysterectomy but what I was told as long as they are small its okay but if you are soaking a pad an hour then you need to be checked by your family doctor or by your gynecologist. It is scary before my surgery I had my period every 2 weeks. If you are scared listen to your body and go get checked trust your instincts.

I also have this problem, sometimes, if you cramp a lot the first few days, the cramping is the clots separating from the uterine wall. That's why you cramp. Clots are completely normal, as long as they aren't gigantic.

It is normal. It happens when you have a heavy discharge especially for the first few days, and the discharge has no time to dissolve inside your body and it is forced to come out from your body due to heavy discharge. Do not worry.
