A falcon or an eagle so I could soar on high and travel great distances seeing many different places. That would be the ultimate in freedom.

It would have to be a bird. I can imagine it now, Soaring on the thermal currents, while surveying the landscape below me. I dive to the left to observe a rabbit nibbling on a blade of grass. Then my sight turns toward the humans who are setting up camp in the forest nearby. I circle the area one last time before the sun sets, and quietly return to my roost to sleep the night away.

I would prefer to be a whale; something big enough not to be bothered too much by predators. I imagine it would be a rather peaceful life, if pollution didn't shorten it. And it would be lovely to communicate with others hundreds of miles away, just by using subsonic sounds.

A cat for sure! You get to sleep and relax all day, someone feeds you, cleans up after you, and all you have to do is be there! thats the life

I would choose to be a bird. I could fly away when i wanted. Theres no walls to keep me in and i would be totally free.

I would be a cat -not because of the nine life's thingy (that's why allot of people would pick them) but because of there elegance and there sophisticated manor .
they are almost free in a way . also because they have the power to balance and fight and still be loving and warm and they have someone else take care of them! :)

Since you mentioned my feathered friends in the same breath as animals, that would be my answer. The feeling of flight has always been exciting to me.
