Have the teacher punish her for talking to you while you're trying to learn. If she were a true friend she would not be bothering you while you're trying to get an education.

What I would suggest first is that every time she tries to talk to you, just say "I'll talk to you about this later, k?" and she'll hopefully get the hint.

If not, then tell her you want to sit up front so you can see the board better and understand more. Either she'll hang out in the back, or else, if she sits up front with you, the teacher will certainly see her.

Give her one last warning. "If you don't stop distracting me in class, I'm going to have to get the teacher involved" Then if she doesn't listen, & bugs you again, call the teacher over & put it into the hands of the teacher. If your friend is mad at you because you did that, too bad. You've given her plenty of warning, & your education is the most important thing in your life right now, not the feelings of an inconsiderate, & immature friend.

Take some time out of your schedule and try to help her figure out what SHE wants to do. Either that or you could try to firmly convince her that she's not gonna amount to anything if she doesn't work for what she wants.

If what she wants involves a beauty school, then advise her towards the right direction. If what she wants involves training in the army, advise her towards the right direction. She's weighing you down by her current actions. If she's not taking what you're saying to heart, then you might as well get ugly with it. I doubt your friendship will break apart.

what you need to do is tell her
"We're best friends and I love talking to you but when I'm in school I really need to concentrate on the work."
If she STILL talks to you just ignore her, she'll get the picture, if she's offended tell her you're sorry but you really need to have 'school time' and 'hanging out time' not both at the same time.

Be very careful she feels that she if failing at school and her attempts at distracting you are actually disguised attempts to sabotage you! Friends always sub-consiiusly compare themselves to each other. Since she can't compete with you at school work, she wants to bring you down to her level. If this fails her attempts at sabotage will continually escalate until she finds some other way to feed her ego, or she finds someone else to whom she feels more equal.

Do you class work and when she bugs you, ignore her, or, if you can move to an empty desk away from her. If that doesn't work tell your teacher.

PRIVATELY, go to the teacher and tell him/her what's happening and ask them to make it look as though YOU are the disturbance of the class and have you moved. win win situation, you play dumb and she is dumb. good luck.
