No...the queen is basically the Public Relations department for England. The pope just looks at anyone who is trying to be a forward thinker, and excommunicates them. That's how the world goes round.

The Vatican ex-communicated all the members of the Church of England during Henry VIII's time. They did it again not so long ago for good measure. I doubt you have to worry about them forming an alliance which will control and rule the world.
They are both so old, they're lucky to be able to control their bowels.
