I've used one and (personally) I would never waste my money again. It didn't work very well. It states you can hear the baby's heartbeat at five months--I didn't hear it through the BeBe until I was eight months! While it was nice to hear it by then I was just ready to get the baby out (haha) and not really worried about hearing the heart beat.

The kind you buy at Wal-Mart generally only allow you to hear the heartbeat when you are in your third trimester. You can check out eBay and compare the different kinds of dopplers. I bought one for around $100 from there. You can also find places that will rent them. I know Storkradio will rent them for about $20/month.

the ones at walmart do suck and they only work when your 8months pregnant or farther long.i rented a doppler just like the 1 the drs use.it was 24$ a month but it was worth it to me.i had previous miscarrisges and hearing my babies heartbeat any time that i wanted made me feel more at ease.i dont think it will hurt your baby in anyway.if you want to rent 1 just google rent a baby heart monitor

stress on the baby????????? there should not be a problem at all with listening to your babys heart beat. Or watching on an ultrasound. You touch your tummy all day and nothing is going wrong becasue of that. listening to the heart beat would not cause stress on the baby.

I rented one of the systems just like they use at the drs office and it was great. I was paranoid, since I had just had a miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy before my daughter. The BeBe only works later in pregnancy.

I used to listen to my daughters heart beat with one of those things right before I went to bed everynight. I loved listening to her. It was the best thing and it worked great.
