Just once I would love to come home to a clean house. I spend so much time cleaning it up and my roomates just trash the place and never clean up. I have tried asking nicely, made a cleaning schedule, being firm, threatened to move, everything and nothing works! I'm tired of moving and I don't know what else to do. Please help!!

Honey, I know exactly how you feel. I'm living with a boyfriend who just does not know how to clean things or keep them clean. If you insist on still living there...you either have to get over it and keep cleaning after these little kids or get over their mess and STOP cleaning up after them. Either way, you need to stop letting it bother you because it will honestly drive you insane. You have three choices...

1) Move out
2) Keep cleaning their messes
3) Stop cleaning up after them.

It's that simple.

That happened to me once. I did everything in my power to make it end...and the only thing that ended it was to move out. If that's not an option for you, I don't know what will work. It already sounds as though you've made the best efforts possible. However, one thing I would consider is to STOP CLEANING! They don't need to clean because it sounds as though you are doing all the work. Try to not clean and maybe they will either get the hint, or not like living in filth and actually pick up after themselves. Good luck. Roomates can suck. Especially when they eat your food.

I would start by definitely only cleaning your area of the house. And I know it is disgusting, but if you must keep a setting of dishes in your room. Do only your own laundry and for crying out loud let it get dirty for at least two weeks, if they do nothing, yes they are pigs it is time to move. next time make sure when you are looking to move in with other students, that you go by the house you will be moving into and stop by without calling, to see how messy they are. As long a s your not an annoying Virgo who expects the house and everything else to be perfect like no one lives there. I bet you find some pretty compatible roomies pretty quickly.. good luck.

Different people have different comfort levels for grime. I know you're tired of moving, but that's the only solution if you don't want to accept their grime comfort level. I'll admit I've been the lazy roomate before. I don't like dirt, but things have to be dirty before I take time to clean them. You must know by now that they won't change. Having people constantly nag at you is NOT condusive to a good roomate situation, so I'd suggest moving and really talking to your next roomate before you move in. It's really best if you both love to clean. Good Luck!!!
