I would say that you need to get your foot in the door, probably an entry level position.
One item that would conern a potential employer is that you haven't worked since December of 2005.
Another is 2 of the 3 jobs were only held for 3 months and 6 months.
You may want to look into a contract position. They don't usually worry about your work history.
It is more of a opportunity for the employer to try you out, then hire if the situation permits.
Also as a contractor, you can have a current work history and gain additional skill sets.
I would try looking for jobs in your area on Dice.com. This will at least give you some ideas of contract companies.
I prefer Robert Half if available in your area.

Best Wishes!

Man it is easy to NOT get a job in IT. I'll explain I have been into the IT world for years so I know my stuff. What happens is a couple things.

First is outsourcing or paying people over sea's to do the work. Big compaines like Dell, HP, Compaq, And Gateway will hire people in India for there tech support. They do because these people are alot cheaper to hire for $5.50 an hour instead to pay a regular A+/Network+ tech $15.00 to $20.00 an hour. Plus they can hire people in India that not only have an Comptia cert but also with a master degree in Computer Science. As you know this is alot better then a easy to take comptia exam(A+ ,Network+, or etc).

Next is that everyone thinks technology is the place to be. This is ture but not good for jobs. See they fill up so fast that before you know it they are taken. Another problem is everyone is racing to get the most Certifications/Degree's to make thier resume look good.

It is a fast field and that is why you can't get a job man. Keep trying.

Based on what you wrote, I wouldn't hire you either. What are your educational credentials? Do you have something else to offer rather than tinkering around?

How are you presenting yourself during an interview?

Get some education and you will be taken more seriously.

Your work history is also spotty at best.

You could as you have experienced in settup up for small office.

But you must know that there are plenty of people out that with similar background also. And they have much more experiences that just several months and degree to back it up.
