when they record a song with U2?

U2 was NEVER a punk band.

Green Day could have been at one point, as much as one could consider Bon Jovi heavy metal

Emma, you need to learn more about music history. U2 were once a new wave band, much like Kajagoogoo and Bow Wow Wow.

People are protective of "their" genre's. What does it matter whether if Green Day, is/or was punk? Green Day has been able to put out good songs using REAL talent. When nowadays anybody with a stick with a rubber band stretched from one end to the other and can magically make a platinum record. Not all but alot of todays new bands just flat out SUCK!
