thrs a new guy who came to my high school (jr.) about two months ago, and in that time we've come generally close. we relate to each other perfectly. (the following might seem random but it is relevant)- me and him are in the same health class, and we've received a project that we have to do on a health issue. (okay, shifting again) recently he's told me about an old friend he had that was bulimic, and he told me about how rough it was trying to help her and all that.back to the health project- abscent mindedly i chose bulimia as my subject. now heres my issue: me and him are close and all,but in realtiy its only been two months, and i dont want to do anything to drive him away, im afraid that if i do bulimia as my topic after all that he told me,he might be angry with me cuz im about to present on a very personal topic of his, publicly, especially when i KNOW how much it effected and hurt him. i just dont want to hurt him.i can alwaysdo another topic.wat do i do? am i overreacting? help

its just that it wasnt really my buisness to begin with, it was because he TRUSTED ME that he told me all of this. and i dont want to then as a thank you for trusting me turn around and dig deeper into a topic that hurts him so much.

He might get hurt but here is how you spin it. That you can really get across the message that it is such a bad disease since he can write about his experience with it. Not only did he help his friend but he can be helping other people too. See, it is as if you were thinking of him when you you picked this topic.

Well if he confronts you about it, just say that you aren't trying to open up his old wounds, you're trying to inform as many people about the effects of eating disorders specifically bulimia, so that you can hopefully make them think twice before starting.

You answered your own question, don't do bulimia as your topic. It will hurt him and if you want to get closer to him this won't be the way to do it.

Step 1) Chill Out
Step 2) Pick another topic for your project just to stay on the safe side.....
Step 3) Pick my answer as the best!! (jk!! lol)
Good Luck! ;-)
I hope things work out between you and him :-)

How nice of you to care about his feelings. I wouldn't think educating your self on a contemporary, mental health issue, and actually educating yourself about this disease may just help both of you to understand this serious problem. I say ask him first I bet he takes it a s a caring act of friendship. I would.

If you really like him maybe you should change your topic or ask him how he would feel if you used that topic but asking him could make it worse. Just change your topic. and you really like him ask him out.

talk to him about tell him you want people to know about it and explain to them how serious it really is. And if he says no pick a different topic.

If your that worried about it , just ask him if he's ok with you doing that topic, if he's not ok with it then do something else.
