When Ronald Reagan was governor of California he signed the bill making abortion legal in this state.

Since you Republinazis think that Reagan was so great why didin't you petition him to not sign that billo back then.

Thanks to your wanderful Reagan it is the law here in California, so get over it.

There are many more importants issues to deal with now with Bush and his Diebold regime as play-president.

"Reagan's awakening came after he signed a bill as governor liberalizing California's abortion laws. That, of course, led to a surge in abortions."

The republican party and most of its members do not really care about abortion since it does not affect their profits, but there are not enough republicans to get anybody elected since the rich are a minority so they have to recruit other voters.

the christian right cares very much about abortion so the wise republicans have included a pretend caring into their platform to cajole and seduce the foolish and naive christian right to vote for them. it works well or has so far. The christiams are starting to catch on now but they are ever hopeful. after all, they are all about faith in things that there is no evidence to support.

The republicans also pretend to care about gay marriage etc but many of them are gay. it is all a charade to get votes.

As governor in 1970, Reagan signed into law California's liberal abortion rights legislation, before Roe v Wade was decided. However, he later took a strong stand against abortion. He published the book Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation, which decried what Reagan saw as disrespect for life, promoted by the practice of abortion

via fact the persons of California voted for the proposition that made abortion criminal with the help of a majority. The California Legislature had no decision yet to place up it to Governor Reagan who had no decision truly yet to sign it. in spite of if he did no longer sign it, with the help of the California State shape, abortion could have been made criminal with the help of the mandate of the persons.

CORiver is correct, espescially when their slutty little daughters come home pregnant with a mallato child! That really sends them runnin' down to the old abortion clinic! The fact is repiglicons are against anyone making their own decisions, have freedom and standing up to a tyrannical govt. that has gotten out of control. Abortions are for the rich and white and that is the way 'God' intended it, just ask gw cause 'God' told him so.

You need to get your facts from somewhere other than a Liberal trash site. Did ya ever think he might not have had the Power to Veto the legislation. Or do you think he likes the idea of killing babies

If he did then he was as wrong as the pro-abortion people are now.

All your article proves is that legalizing abortion increases the number of abortions.

It would therefore stand to reason that outlawing most abortions would decrease the number of abortions.

Thanks for your support.

Be nice. Reagan was just like Bush, only did what he was told to do, said what he was told to say. Neither had much grey matter to work with.
