Its based off of a novela in spanish called "La Bella Mas Fea" which means the most ugly beautiful.
Sadly I haven't watched either long enough to decide which is better.

I've never seen the English version. The Spanish version has been on for awhile so I've seen it a few times.

I get on the internet & watch the full episode of it on abc.com;
it's on the same time as survivor so i have to watch later on internet. it's very good though, has a lot of good humour, vanessa williams makes a hilarious diva on the show too and it's interesting that it's set in the world of a fashion magazine.

It is quirky, clever and quite good. I like it. I like the closeness of the family, the honesty of Betty, the odd friendship and respect springing up with her co-workers and her. I think it could be a winner, and its placement in the schedule is helpful, too.

Ive seen bits and pieces and everything ive seen was in english seeing as how i onyl speak english and french and would refuse to watch it if it had any spanish in it whats so ever

It's not bad, actually. I never saw the original "Betty la Fea" but apparently it was an international hit.

Actually the first show was the best ,but the ones since then have been drab and don't really hold my intrest any longer.The show is in English.

I watch it, and I think it's pretty good. I like Grey's Anatomy better, but I've loved Grey's Anatomy since the first episode.
