i heard it's mpeg-2. is it different from mpg?
does that mean i can burn mpgs into a dvd to make a movie dvd?

MPEG is the most recognized format for dvd's. I use Ahead Nero and AVS Video Editor to make home movies and slide shows and burn them onto DVD's to watch on our big screen TV. The other two formats you need to be fimiliar with are NTSC and PAL. NTSC is the format American TV's use to display the image on the screen and PAL is the european format they use to display the image on the screen. So to answer your question: save it as a MPEG file and burn onto the disc in the NTSC format for viewing in the USA on american televisions.

You need mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 & 48,0000 Hz audio to make DVD's.

No, DVD movies use .vob files. You can convert anything into a .vob before you burn it. some porgrams do it automatically, but i reccomend super C.
