I am trying to make my own Halloween costume this year based after different eras (1920s, 60s, etc.). I have a very pretty polka dot skirt that I think might work, but I'm not sure which era polka dots were popular in. Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions? Thanks

They have been in and out since the early twenty's and maybe before that so good luck. In this page they tell me the 1960's.

Polka dots have been around since the late 1800's with the advent of the polka dance craze, hitting their peak in fashion in the 50's. Some would say that they are still fashionable!

Polka Dots are popular in my house right now. I have two cats who both wear polka dot skirts. I have a bird who has a polka dot hat, and my wife wears polka dot bras. I like to wear polka dots, but only when I am mowing the yard. I'd say 2006, Polka-Dots for all!! YIPEE
