He didn't get him comepletly out of the swing. I caught him before he did but he still dropped him back in the swing.

First of all it is a swing that lays back and second of all I was standing right there telling my mother good bye and he picked up my son. If I wouldn't have been standing there then he would have gotten him out. So I do watch my child and no I don't leave him in the swing all day so he is not going to develop a flat spot in the back of his head from that.

My son, when he was 1 yr old dragged my little baby girl off the couch by her leg, tried to feed her a pork-chop bone, sat on her head, and the list goes on. Sh*t happens when you've got a toddler and a baby in the same house. Thank goodness my daughter is now 8 although my son still does stuff like that. You'd think he'd have learned to knock it off. Anyway if the baby is content and not crying or fussing all should be well. I know people are going to go crazy and tell you to take the baby to er immediately but if the baby isn't showing any signs of being hurt he's OK. If the baby is screaming and has any signs of injury do take the baby to see a physician. Disregard that comment about the baby being able to hold up there head before putting them in a swing. UGH. Some people don't know that there are swings that now recline. You can also put blankets around the empty spots to fill it in. It's ok to have had your baby in a swing honey.

In all liklyhood no, infants are not as fragile as we think... At most maybe a scratch from the swing or a small bruise for the same reason are about all you will see...

Talk to the 2 yr old and explain that you know how much he loves his new brother and you know he just wants to hug him... Explain that nexttime he really wants to hug his brother all he has to do is ask and you will help him hold and hug the baby...

Your 2 yr old is probably still really excited and interested in the new baby and meant no harm he just got over exuberant in his want to love and hug the new one...

When my son was 3 month old his sister 25 months at the time picked him up and tried to carry him into her room to share her toys... He was laying on a blanket on the floor while I changed his crib sheet and she scooped him up and carry/ dragged him until she dropped him in the hall it only took a few seconds of my attention diverted and she really meant no harm... He ended up with a scratch on his big toe (from the dragging portion) and a little bruise under his left arm from her holding him so tight trying not to drop him... He is now 17 and no worse for the wear ....

Being that he's only a week old, I would say he is fine, they are used to being jostled and turned and what not in your tummy, so there is of course a difference, but really.. how much of one. As for him being in the swing, if it works it works, if he's happy & content then why should someone push there opinions on you to change that, only you know what is best for your children. And as for the woman freaking over keeping an eye on him.. what does she think you should buy him a kiddie leash and latch him to a chair? Maybe that would be best, to quell his curiousity and interest his sibling, I think not.. But as said before you know whats best!

You never know it is better to get him checked out just in case. The baby really shouldn't be in a swing until they can hold their head up a month or two.

this could have been prevented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where you in the room?
Teach the two year old or he will do it agian!!!! dont scold him or he wil think hes not allowed by him....Teach Him to be GENTLE!
what do you mean you caught him? you caught him in the act? where were YOU????
And also swing hard back give babies a flat spot in their head if hes in in often. leave him in crib with moniter on!!!!!
what if he had gotten him all the way out!
he could've suffered brain damage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
