It is a mutual admiration society. I don't watch it anymore because I liked it better when they didn't question the "stars" on the red carpet and everyone was not posing for pictures for tomorrows magazines. Who care who made what dress?

You know what? I only like to watch those shows only to see who has died within the past year. The "In Memoriam" part of the broadcast. I know that sounds really horrible, but, I actually enjoy that. Maybe because it makes me realize those stars who was once forgotten. You would know that by the applauds. The more the applauds for a person who just died, the more loved they were. When you rarely hear an applauds, then you realize that the actors in the audience did not know who the hell they were and that they were two-bit players form long ago. That part is always interesting for me.
Other then that, I just see the countless repeats and replays from Extra and ET or something like that. I do also enjoy Melissa and Joan Rivers take on how people dressed and who and what made their fashion choices for them. Those are the only two reason I watch any of those awards show.

The Emmy awards and People's Choice awards are also tedious.
It's the suffocating "cavalcade of stars" approach and the on-going advertisements for certain stars and programs, all presentede with glitzy pomposity and arrogance.
I don't watch any of 'em anymore.

I highly agree in one way but, shouldn't everyone have the chance to be rec. for their ability/talent whatever the field of work they choose?
