I can't wait for for these guys to get old and infirm and then let's see who truly is against stem cell research. And another thing; Every time someone uses the term 'Liberal" they are using a catch phrase to describe their own prejudicial views. No one is just this or that. We are all a fluid mixture of many ideas and beliefs. Our current problem is that most voters don't care to be informed so they allow others to define the debate using broad generalities to bolster a position that they don't understand.

I have a disease (called galactosemia which there isn't any type of meds for and the only treatment available is by checking out the ingredients of the food I eat) But if the medical community would be able to invent a med for me to take and live a normal life (which controlling my diet doesn't allow me to have a normal life), I would take it. For those of you interested in knowing more about galactosemia, do a search on google or yahoo and you'll find all types of information about it.

More bad science. I just yesterday saw a list of diseases and problems cured or treated with adult stem cells, and a list of diseases and problems cured or treated with embryonic stem cells.
The first list was long. The second list was empty.
The reason embryonic stem cell researchers are trying to trick people into giving them government funds is because no one else will since not only have they not found any benefit from embryonic stem cell research, but there is little chance it will happen, no matter how much is spent.
Michael Fox is not being exploited. He is deliberately exploiting his illness to try to force us to take money from taxpayers at gunpoint and give it to his favorite research.

The meds make the body rigid and most MS patients hate that feeling. However, when Fox is acting, he has to take his meds or they cannot use him.
Stem cell research is vital. Just think of all of the diseases it might cure: Alzheimers, diabetes, MS, muscular dystrophy which kills kids, schizophrenia, and many more.

acting or not, it broke my heart to watch Michael have to sit there and answer the questions. why does everyone look at the political side? maybe this poor guy just is truly trying/hoping for a cure to this disease and others in his lifetime? instead of looking at him like a political pawn, just wish him the best, there are so many lives at stake here, maybe yours one day

I am sure he is doing it for everyone who has a chronic, debilitating disease. No one should have to live like that regardless of whether they are taking their meds or not. Sometimes republicans are bullies.
If they would take the clause out of the Stem Cell Research, that refers to being able to clone a human being, I would vote for it.

I think the problem with his commercial was that it was very one-sided . Also, there is a very strong minority (about 40%) who don't want their tax $$ to go to this type of research because of the embryo and when life begins questions.

Frankly I think he is being exploited by the liberals. They will use him, then lose him. I wish there was a cure, but I don't believe in stem cell research, use cord blood instead.
