People are rude b/c someone decided to make a rule that stated as "Customer's always right rules" I think this rule is B.S. They are not always right! People are rude b/c they have a bad day and taking it out on the server will make them feel better. If people have a bad day they need to order take out and go home and face the wall and eat their food. I am a server myself and I know exactly what you mean.... I would be so greatful if I have just one shift w/o complaints or rude customer. Why am I still doing this job? B/c it pays my bills

I go out to eat often to nice places and some regular places and for the most part people are usually nice enough. Once in a while you'll see someone demonstrate their bad side. Just the other day I saw an order so messed up that the entire table did not get its order and they had to leave without everyone getting to eat and still they paid!! They left a tip!! I think the restaurant should have picked up the bill myself.

Rudeness is one of many manifestations of stupidity.
Not all people are smart or polite. That's why we see sometimes this "gems". While eating out the rude imbecile thinks that the server is a servANT not a working human being. This draws these "superior being" tantrums in stupid people.

answering from an x foodies point of view it all boils down to class or lack there of .The nicer the restaurant is . it seems the customers were too! The dumpier the place ,the cr----- the people and smaller the gratuity if any. Attorneys and doctors (big $$$) are the worst tippers !!.

Some people feel that since they are paying, that puts them in a class higher than the server. Wrong!

There is never an excuse for rudeness. Lack of social skills is one good reason. The last person anyone would want to rude to is the one who handles their food!

*sigh* I guess because they think they're entitled somehow. They think you're their servant or slave. And then b**** you out for a bun not being too hot, too cold, or whatever. And then leave you a measly tip for good work. I wish more people had to work foodservice before they judge others.
