Not to provoke fundamentalist Christians who are satisfied with the Christ notion on one level, but in moral and social philosophy, would the greeed money powers, corporations, governments of the USA, Russia, even the UK - permit Christ to live?
After all, there were allegedly "gods fearing" people in charge within both the Roman and Jewish camps when Christ turned up first time.
He had subtle but effective ways of inspiring anti usury and social and political revolution as well as metaphysical, spiritual renewal.
And would the voter groundswell in all three ‘democratic’ countries merely
shrug, look the other way as they do when
a social reformer is assassinated on behalf of vested interests in Russia and more insidiously in the USA and the UK?
How many of us would be prepared to really confront issues, put our lives on the line like the pre Third Century Christians did?
And if we did so, would we immediately withdraw from Iraq, Belfast, Latin America etc?

This is not something so facile it can be answered by politically correct NT gospels.
Well, not without all of them, or those written closer to his death. And these must include Magadela’s and Iscariot’s.
And the Belfast thingy isn't about old hat "Catholics" and "Protestants", but the military
enforced occupation of one nation's land by another nation.
Like now in Iraq… where the Christ story is most poignant.
The question is not about latter day Muslims or Mormons or Unorthodox versus Paradox, but Rome's invasion of the Middle East, occupation under law with Jewish collusion.
Then along came Christ.
Vested interests had him taken out. They're doing the same thing with liberal theologian Jesuits in Latin America and the Philippines, SE Asia, as well as investigative social conscience professional journalists worldwide, specially in Russia.
Can people be both “free” and “happy” in a contemporary imperialist society - or should they turn the other cheek provocatively?

First, why would he go to the USA or UK or Russia? He would go Jerusalem and solve the problems in the middle east. As another poster put it, the muslims believe Jesus (Aisa) is a prophet and he will return to solve the problems in the middle east. Secondly, only the non-believers and peole who embrace the dark lord satan, would believe the tabloid press, and come judgment day would be expelled to hell, to be his b.itch. The faithful who believe would recognize His miracles and would embrace him as the Father (including GW Bush). Jesus is not going to be a social reformer, or a politician, to think so is ludacris, He is going to be our(the faithful) saviour. This world will cease to exist, and the new world order, will only be filled with His faithful. He won't be coming to change this world, He will be coming to punish the wicked, reward the faithful, and build a new world.

Very interesting preposition. But you should ask yourself what Christ's agenda would be first. Like the former soviet states, he may have undergone a change and embraced democratic reform and as George W Bush, may decide that all Middle east is in need of Democratic institutions as typified by the United States and GB, not excluding Putin's model. In that case, he would be welcomed by the Pope as a great reformer and he would be given a Pope mobile by the GDR and he will visit Israel and the Holy lands. He will tell Hamas to lay down their arms and embrace the wall. That kind of thing. LOL

First of all, I think this is a great question.
It would be and would have been interesting to experience the time of Christ. He was a persecuted man and although it is written what great and glorious miracles he performed, he was still sought out for death. Much like the religious leaders we see today in the Middle East.
Remember, History always repeats it's self.
So to answer your question, Yes, Jesus , today, would probably be killed or assassinated.

as a person living in the the supposed 'democratic' UK.....I think the general reaction would be......
Is David Icke at it again?
There would have to be some serious proof in this day and age, loads of enquiries so as to prove this person's claims, and then the guy would have to survive trial by papparazzi.
If he was finally taken seriously, I don't think he would be assasinated. Can you really shoot the son of god, or would in be like keanu reaves in the matrix.
As for withdrawing from Belfast? Wasn't that christians killing christians?
One would hope, we'll all become (whatever religion/ethnicity) a little more introspective and maybe realise that we're only hurting ourselves.
Either that or it'd give some of the hardline christian fruitloops the chance to pull faces at everyone else and say.."ha, who are the infidels now huh?? hmm? hmm??? Don't see your prophet/god here to protect you!!!!! nah nah nyah nyahh nyaaaah"
maybe.....

Spirituality is a personal matter. The US is not a theocracy.
The fact that the US is a Christian country does not mean that the US should be judged on the basis of what Jesus would do.
Look in the NT at the socialism of the early Christians. It was never imposed on people outside the church.

This is a very interesting question.
Ever heard the phrase "Leaders get shot" ?
I believe all people who believe wholeheartedly and are willing to stand up for their beliefs will get shot one way or another.
If he gathered enough of a following they might call him a cultist, terrorist, communist, liberal, radical theorist, or anything.
Hate groups, and people that believe in something radically different, would target him.
Maybe the real question is why aren't more people showing up like Jesus... is everyone that afraid?

Da Vinci Code and Gospel of Judas has convincingly proved that Christianity as is practiced by Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Church and Coptic Church is false Religion, and this form of religion not at all approved by Jesus and his 12 Apostles. Roman Catholic Church and Orthodox should discontinue using the brand name JESUS or MARY simply because Jesus of Nazareth rejected Judaism, Judaic Law, Sabbath, Circumcision and adopted Hindu Buddhist Jaina religion. Jesus taught Hinduism /Buddhism to Jews. Upanisads not Old testament should be part of the New Testament Holy Bible.
Jesus taught Jews about Immanent God the Para Brahman the Almighty God which even Yahweh could not know as Yahweh was a Tribal God of Volcano.
If Jesus were to return to Earth 1.2 billion Hindus would protect Jesus and no body would be able to harm him. Jesus was a Hindu and he died a Hindu and Jesus had totally rejected Judaism and Jewish scriptures.
Hegelian German Pope Benedict should reform Catholicism and reject all imperfections that Jewish leaders of Church falsely introduced in Christian dogma during last 1700 years.
IF JESUS AND HIS APOSTLES RETURNED TO USA OR EUROPE TODAY THE PAPACY, PROPHETIC CHRISTIANS WOULD BURN JESUS, THOMAS, MARY MAGDALENE, JUDAS AND OTHER APOSTLES AS WITCHES, BECAUSE JESUS WAS A HINDU AND HE TAUGHT HINDUISM TO JEWS AND HE WOULD DO THE SAME AND TEACH HINDUISM TO POPE BENEDICT XVI ON THE VERY DAY OF HIS RETURN TO EARTH.
On this return to Earth Jesus would use his powers to restore Hindu and Buddhist roots to Christianity and remove Judaic roots of Christianity. Pope Benedict XVI would accept the advice of Jesus and restore Hindu Buddhist dogmas in Christianity.

I have not the faintest idea!!!!
I get the idea that you'd like a 'book' sized reply to your 'question' ....though I'm tempted to see it as more of a 'hypothesis' instead.
There are so MANY of the 'ifs' 'buts' and 'and's' that would go into an answer to it, that I'm afraid I'd have to ask for a salary to do so.
Sorry.
Sash.
