Only if you live in a humid climate with large ambient temperature swings above the freezing point. The purpose would be to dehumidify the air to prevent condensation from forming on the inside glass surfaces.

The A/C runs anytime you have the defroster on. This takes the humidity out of the air and clears the windows and also works the A/C compressor so that it maintains function.

i own a repair shop,and it is a good idea to kick it in once In a while it helps keep it working good,as a matter of fact now most manufacturer's will suggest that you turn it on once in a while just to keep the compressor from locking up,but i do it ,and it don't hurt anything at all,and all my vehicles have the original compressors on them,and have give no trouble at all,so yes you can do it you want to,it wont hurt it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Anytime you have the defrosters on, your A/C is cycling so it stays lubricated and there is not a real need to run it. If it makes you feel better though, you can.

it wouldnt hurt to run it plus it helps remove humidity from the windows and most newer cars run the air conditioning anyway

it should cycle when the defrost is on, but it is a good idea to run it every now and again. The ceramic seal needs to stay lubricated to prevent leakage. it will save you money in the long run.

yes-when using defrost
AC takes moisture out of the air which in turn helps melt ice on your windows.
