im a 20 year old male and i feel as though im still trying to find myself. i feel as though i struggle with being the age that i am. sometimes i feel insecure and i dont know how to cope sometimes. how do i get that adult mentality embedded in me for good. or at least around people.

make a list of things that feel adult to you, then do them
likely the reason you still feel like a teen is because you still have the same lifestyle. Think about getting a job or going to college trying to look for more serious relationships etc.

I was sorta the same way,, I usually hung around with people a few yrs younger than myself,, I dont act my age (even at 46) ,, but I have found that just having a more serious attitude about the situation, whatever it may be,, (I still do that alot, not serious enough about things) and there are times it has come around and bit me in the butt,and also "The company we keep determines the trouble we find"

I'm 23 (just turned) and in the past year I've only begun to feel like I'm an adult. I think this society with it's prolonged schooling and no required age in which you have to marry and set up house, teen years seem more prolonged.

When you was a child you spoke as a child and now that you are grown you should put away childish things. So hang around with people your age and your coping abilities will turn positive.

Enjoy your age. You have lots of time to become an adult. Read some books on self confidence/esteem. It will happen when it does, relax and live.

i raised 19 children my baby girl is 22 and each and every one of them went through the same thing it is just part of maturing.
