Somewhat rundown apartment with a friend. We had our first jobs. Neighbors were out of control and moved one year later to apt. with pool and clubhouse. We thought we were living like "rich folk" but ate pasta or peanut butter 'cause the rent was much higher than the first place.

My first place was a 4 Bedroom Split Level House on a 1/3 acre in Montgomery County, MD which was purchased in 2002. I had the place for 3 years until I sold it in 2005 and purchased a 4 Bedroom Colonial in Frederick County, MD. Sadly, I sold the house in Frederick and moved back with my parents. Now, an apartment would be liberating....

well this is not about my apartment but me and my man were talking about this yesterday...he said he made the mistake of paying too much for a really nice apartment while he was in college...he had to work alot to do that and now he wishes he just lived in a rat trap and had saved all that money or worked less and had more free time

My first place was a Pepto Bismol colored trailer. It was really bad, but I was pregnant with no where to go, so it worked. It's all in what you make of it. If at all possible, I would try to find a place that is safe and one that you like, but where you can afford to save money for a nice home. When you get out there try to be responsible with your money so that you can move on to something you can call your own.

My first place was an apartment in Westwood. I was in college and thought that I could live in a place by myself. It was a tiny, tiny, tiny apartment that I could not afford but it was in a posh area of Los Angeles. Eventually I had to move my boyfriend(whom I really didn't care for all that much)in so that I could actually afford to live there and go to school. This experience taught me delayed gratification.
