Because I work on the front line, people must assume I own the company and make all the decisions considering the way they bi+ch at me. How would they like it if I went to their work and started making a scene to get what I wanted? Why are people just so garsh darn rude?

My point exactly!!!
I worked in customer service for 6 months. Man, people are MEAN. I was so happy when I found out I was pregnant so I had a reason to quit (well... a reason to give my husband). I will NEVER go back to customer service again!!!
Some of the things that come out of peoples mouths. It's like their momma's taught them no respect. They think they can just cuss someone out for not getting their way.
I had one customer woman come up to me and start complaining about one of the 16 year old girls (Shanetta) who worked where I worked at. Shanetta was standing right there next to me and the customer was all like "This black b(*%# over here...." (referring to Shanetta!!! Who was standing RIGHT THERE!) I wanted to slap that woman so hard. By the way... the woman was white and was probably only about 25....

It is ironic at how many people who work in customer service complain about the customers. I'm not saying that the customers are right. I do feel that the majority of CSR's aren't happy with their job and it shows a lot of the time.

I think its because they think by being rude they can get what they want. What they don't realize is that they would probably get further if they were nicer. I deal with the public also and I know exactly what you go thru.

They probably have had a lot of bad experiences with similar companies and found the staff unfriendly and just don't care about being courteous so long as they get what they came for. Customer service ain't what it used to be.
