Take it however you want but a head warlock over several covens told Good Morning America some years ago that parents are ignorant of the ramifications of dressing their children up in evil costume.
He said on Halloween, parents are putting themselves and their children at risk for demonic possession. Certainly not every child gets possessed - but a number of them do, and its potluck.., or rather.., those who (figuratively speaking) draw the short straw.
The interview was done by, David Hartman. I do not recall what the Warlock's name was.
Like I said. You can take it for what its worth. Laugh it off or take it seriously.

I love it. I think it's good for creativity, imagination, social interaction, and and it annoys religious freaks. It's also not a day when dumb Americans go into horrendous debt like christmas.

It's a big waste of time. The supernatural is all a huge crock of shi'ite.
Personally, I prefer Thanksgiving.
