It seems that my older daughter (16) often 'spanks' my younger son (12) on his bottom. It doesn't seem like it's out of anger, but rather just for fun or whenever she 'feels like it.'
Is this something to be concerned with? Does anybody have this in their family, or had it done to them/done it to anybody else?

It's just your daughters way of asserting herself and establishing "superiority" over the younger sibling. I don't think its anything ti worry about assuming it doesn't get too rough.

I would be concerned. At their age they should not be having that sort of contact for any reason. I am not saying she is being a pervert. Maybe she just doesn't realize it is inappropriate. Talk to your son and get his take on it. Then sit your daughter down and explain it isn't a good idea to be doing that. If she is just playing tell her to find another way. It simply is not right.

uh well, it could be normal but usaully girls just do that to their friends to joke around or creep them out. maybe its an inside joke between them such as she knows it creeps him out but she does it for laughs. (not in a freaky way) just ask her about it. or tell her to stop.
