When I close my eyes and try to picture something I can't. If you tell me to picture a football field, I can't. But I can with my eyes open. I can't imagine seeing someone sitting in a chair across from someone or infront of me or standing next to me, I can't see that person.

What's wrong with me?

Nothing's wrong with you. Some people are better at visualization that others. You are just a person that has trouble visualizing with your eyes closed. Not a problem.

There's nothing wrong with you. Alot of people have trouble with visualization. Some say it's inate; some say it can be learned. Either way, its not a significant handicap, unless you pursued a career in math.

To do it you have to free your mind of all the clutter and just think about what you want to see. Try some inspirational tapes and relax then do it

sounds like a case of no imagination. you should try writing stories about random things, and "train" your imagination.
