Question 1
How have you taken advantage of the educational opportunities you have had to prepare for college?
Throughout my years in high school, I feel that I have taken advantage of what my school has to offer. I have challenged myself by taking Accelerated, Honors, and AP classes. As a sophomore I took accelerated English, Honors Chemistry, and AP World History. Then during the summer, I went to Long Beach City College to take Intermediate Algebra and Spanish 3 because I wanted to be in AP Calculus AB and AP Spanish Literature in my senior year. As a junior, I took four AP Classes with two Honor classes which kept me busy especially since I was president of the French club. Being bilingual, I challenged the AP French Language exam and passed with a 4. Now as a senior, I am challenging myself by taking 4 AP classes: Calculus AB, Chemistry, Physics B, Spanish Literature, and 2 Honors classes. I think you have done pretty well, but you haven't completely answered the question. Yes, you have taken all of these high level classes, but they want to know how that has prepared you for college. Make sure you address the things that you have accomplished that show responsibility on your own, organizational skills, and scheduling ability. Good luck!

Wow! Thats great! You sure have been working!
comments -- 1) I couldn't tell if you were bilingual in French or Spanish 2) your topic sentence is weak -- instead of repeating the question you might want to summarize the point that you took advanced classes and 3) Your closing sentence is weak ... did you really just take the toughest courses as a demonstration of your will? Or was it a reflection of your intense interest in science, math, language?

personally i would put less attention on what classes you took and more attention on why you took them. While you might want to include some of the class names, i would just take your first sentence, and your last sentence, and get rid of everything else. Then elaborate more on the last sentence.

it's pretty good, I think. The question is stupid, though. they can get this information from your transcript, why make you write an essay about it? I'm sure they want to see if you can write, which obviously you can. so, yes, it is good.
