My son has asthma and is very sensitive to dry air from the furnance. Someone told me that I can add a furnace humidifier. But there is not enough room near to furnace to do that. I am wondering whether there is any furnace or portable heater which comes with humidifier built in it. A separate humidifier doesn't seem to help my son so far.

Thanks

Steve

I'd check with another technician. I have a humidifier on my furnace for the whole house (wife has similar problem) and it's only about 1 ft by 1 ft by 6 in. If you can't fit than on your furnace was probably positioned incorrectly because there is supposed to be a certain amount of clearance around it. Check again.

Turn the room temperature down to 68-70 degrees too much heat makes the breathing worse. If your furnace is forced air type, a humidifier is available to install inside the duct work. You should call a professional for an estimate.

Check around at Home Depot or other Hardware stores there are many different types of humidifiers and one should work for you.
