I'm thinking about getting electrolysis on my upper lip. I've tried at home waxing kits...they seemed to stop working after the 2nd time of using it. Plucking also takes up way too much time and I dont think it's worth 8 dollars to go to the salon and get it waxed every 2 weeks. Has anyone had electrolysis? How much does it normally cost and how many sessions do you have to go to on average? Does it hurt?

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

It doesn't hurt, just tingles a bit, but it doesnt work as easily as you may think. Its expensive, and time consuming. It can cost up to a hundred dollars a session and i went for 8 sessions and the hair still came back.Your better off buying your own wax machine, you can buy one at sally's beauty supply store, and wax it yourself.Electrolysis isn't painfull, frankly it is over-rated,and overpriced.

It stings...but they can use a numbing gel on you. It can cost ~150 a session and will need several sessions depending on your hair. IPL lasers are the best.
