It's great that you are asking questions about your career at such a young age. But at 17, shouldn't you still be in school? Going to university will open a lot more doors for you in your career, so consider going to school part time or full time. In a few years, you will be earning a lot more money and have many more opportunities for possible careers.

I started working at age 15, but went to university and started working in my actual career when I was 22 (at an office).

u will prob travel many career paths b4 u find your niche. weigh your options against your talents. do you prefer being outdoors, or working w/your hands? r u a people person? do u like 2 be creative? do u prefer 2 work alone or w/a team? these are things that come in time. its difficult 2 have a preference if u havent tasted everything on the buffet. take your time...u're young and there will be many opportunities 2 decide. i hope u're college bound (i would also recommend the military if it werent war-time). focus on your talents and things u like 2 do...then think about persuing something in those areas. theres nothin worse than a job u hate.

i still haven't started on my desired profession. i'm in school for it, though. 2 1/2 more years of undergrad and 3 of graduate and then i'll be good to go.
