I'm almost 5'4 and I usually wear heels that are 3.5 to 4 inches high.

I think the 2-3 inch heel suggestions are right on! I've seen short women try to wear really high heal to make themselves look taller. All it made them do was look like they were trying to hard. Kinda like the short guys who like cowboy boots for the heels.

I'm just a bit shorter than you are and I wear most of my heels about three inches. If they're any shorter I still walk on the backs of my jeans, too much taller and I might fall on my face.

a wedge heel might work, i do suggest not to use too flimsy a heel, trust me they snap qiuck, so try one at first that isn't to thin or too tall. good luck
