it's possible to conceive right away. If you want to be sure not to get pregnant, you should use some sort of birth control (and breast feeding is not considered birth control). If you aren't concerned about it, then don't. It is wise, however, to heal somewhat so that your body is better prepared to bear another pregnancy as well as having the strength to care for your 1st infant.

You can get pregnant the very first time you ovulate after pregnancy (which can be anywhere from immediately after giving birth to a few months depending on the woman)... As long as sperm is introduced into the equation with the ovum (egg) you could get pregnant..

It is however best to wait at least a year preferably a bit longer between pregnancies.. Pregnancy takes alot out of you not only with fatigue and extrenal body changes but also nutrient wise... The baby will get what it needs to grow and develop even if it had to come from your bodies reserves rather than diet... You body needs time to replenish and heal itself between pregnancies... For instance if the growing baby needs calcium and you have not gotten enough calcium right in the period th baby needs it .. Yup your body will break down it's reserve calcium (your bones) to give the baby what it needs...

Giving your body time to replenish and repair from the first pregnancy gives your body the best chance to have what the second baby will need without dangerously depleting your reserves...

Think about it like a lake behind a dam... The lake is full then there is a fire water from behind the dam is used to fight the fire lowering the level of the lake... when the fire is out the lake needs time to replenish itself before the next fire or there may not be enough water to fight the fire... Your body is the same thing give it time to replenish itself and it's better ready for the next job you ask it to do...

When I was in high school a girl got pregnant 2 weeks after having a baby.

i DONT recommend this. You REALLY need to wait 6 weeks before having sex again so your body can heal and get back to normal.

You DO NOT have to have a period to get pregnant.

Good Luck

Each person is different so a woman had better use protection. I have a friend who became pregnant less that a month and a half. I truly felt for her.

depends on when your body starts having periods. everyone is different, but it is possible to get pregnant right away. I suggest if you don't want another baby right away, then use birth control.

As soon as you ovulate and as soon as you and your husband/bf get a little "privacy" even before they discharge you after having a baby.
