well, you havent been using it since you went to sleep last night, so it's still weak, it's just like the rest of your body when you wake up you stretch to wake up. the weird sound of your voice is it getting warmed up. i know i didn't put it in well, but i hope you get what i mean.

Because you were asleep all nite. If you house is having dry air, that could be another reason. Dry air makes you r voice sound funny. Another reason is, that your tounge at nighte while asleep is gettingdry too. That are some of the reason's our voice sound weired. They kind of sound like hoarse to you . I have the same trouble. To avoid it, purchase a humidifyer. It cleans out the air and the dust in the home. It is healthier and helpful. Good luck. Greetings from Utah.

Because of the fact that through the night most people are mouth breathers and the throat gets dry and causes raspy sounds....also there are those (hopefully not most of us......) who snore, which will cause hoarseness in the morning. The drying of secretions in the throat causes this change in sound...Once you are up and drink something, brush your teeth, and /or gargle you will notice that this will get better.

because you still got wax in your ears,you havent cleared your throat yet,there is a change in temperature,you are not yet fully awake and the system is not running full power,
personally i have not noticed it much ,guess you have to be talking to become aware .

i've always attributed it to snot buildup on the vocal cords, compounded by a conscious mind still revving through first gear
