Wife beating is accepted in Islam, how are the Mullas in India reacting to this? It is going against the teachings of Islam. Will the muslim women really come out to speak against their husbands?

My dear where did you get your lessons from ? Perhaps in a Shishu Mandir.

See what Tulsidass[a Hindu saint] has said about Hindu women " A drum, an animal, an idiot and a WOMAN sounds sweet when BEATEN."

Islam is the first religion which has given equal rights to the women.

Has any other religion given right to property to the women ?

Has any other religion given right to a widow to remarry ?

Has any other religion given right to a women to divorce her husband ?

" The best of you is he is the best in his treatment
towards his wife. "--Muhammad.

" Acquisition of knowledge is incumbent both on
muslim man and a muslim WOMAN. "--Muhammad

It is not the muslim women who are burnt daily for petty dowry.
It is not the muslim women who are forced to commit " SATI ".

The highest female infanticide rate in hindus show that how much do they love women. They kill women daily in thosands in their wombs.

There are more divorce cases in non-muslims then muslims.

It is not like YOURS where"WOMEN and SHUDRAS "
are strictly prohibited to learn Vedas.

My dear before putting a question here you must be prepared for the facts.

Having lived in India for a bit, I can support Eoghan's assertion that bride burnings and a lot of the violence against women there is orchestrated by other women. This is not so common in the west, and we find it a bit strange. The men commit the violent acts at the behest of a matriarchial leader in their household. Deal with this fact: much of the violence against women in the developing world is done by other women. The laws in India are essentially a form of social engineering and an attempt to reduce statistics. It reeks of western feminist ideals and ignores the fact that a lot of violence against women in India has men commiting the act at the behest of a woman, usuallu a mother figure. I do not condone the act of the man (and some violence is caused by men for other reasons), but there must be a cultural change to stop this type of activity being called for by women.

Well before we all get racist - just remember that it is not so long ago that wife beating was sanctioned in British Law - provided that the stick that the man used was no wider than his thumb - hence the term Rule of Thumb.

Wow! I did not know that, a religious faith that believes in don't lie. don't cheat, don't steal, love thy neighbor as thy self but its OK to beat your wife. Not cool at all and doesn't make any sense. I hope all women speak out about that kind of injustice.
