Chaos theory is explained; just not to you. If you knew any thing about the theory, then you would know that it does not, nor ever will " control " anything, let alone weather patterns. I do not know how you people can take a theory that deals with initial conditions and the widening variance between two systems and turn it into what you would. Only in the philosophy section.

Chaos theory states that such events are unpredictable, yet in patterns. That's a contradiction... but a good idea.

But even if we use it to predict storms, what then? There will still be damage and destruction. People will still be displaced.

I believe that the amount of lives saved from this, would just be taken some other way, like a new form of cancer or disease.

I'm Mrs. Brightside.... Lol.

I have been in an accident and in the midst of chaos, watching as if in slow motion and i can tell you it was totally under control being governed by the karma of those involved. those involved had no conscious control. I do not know anything of chaos theory.

the word explained is wrong because it has been explained. If you are meaning contolled then it wouldnt be chaos theory since its uncontrollable. so to answer the question as you inteded yes, but to answer if it makes sense, no you cant control random. thats the point.

Choas theory will never be fully explained, as by its very nature it is chaotic and random..........imagine trying to plot the precise co-ordinates of every rain drop that falls from the sky at any given moment.
The best we'll ever do is a good guess.

Doesn't the name "chaos" suggest that it's not explainable?

nope, organisation is far too monotonal. People would become resentful of the lack of mysteries.

Yeah...so that people would really know better....Sometimes we cant understand the future if we dont have any knowledge about the past.....coz it's the past that builds the future...
