my mom doesn't even allow me on he site. I am 14. I have heard about everything with myspace, and would never give anyone my personal info,and don't they have something where you can hide your info?
anyway, how can i convince my mom to allow me to get a myspace page?

Honestly, myspace is getting boring now. It's really open with other strangers and unsafe.
Plus, you would get annoyed when you get Band Myspace friend requests everyday.
Don't get one.

as much as you will hate this answer, your mom doesnt want you on myspace, not b/c she doesnt trust YOU but b/c there are some sick and twisted people on there. even though you only allow people to see as much personal info as you want, there is nothing to stop the freaks and pervs from bothering you. and, while you are certainly smart enough not to fall for some obviously crazy fiend, the scariest part (especially for a mom) is that lots of times the ones who you should be most wary of, are the best at hiding it.
instead of myspace, why dont you ask your mom if you may join facebook. it is traditionally only used by high school/college kids, and you can allow anyone, even people that you approve as a friend, to see only a limited profile of yourself if you'd like, further assure her by allowing her to have access to your page anytime she'd like. for instance, you could have her set up a page too, and then she could see who you are talking to, and what about.

Don't make a myspace page. Why do you truely want to make one? Because all of your friends have one, right? Don't follow the crowd, be an individual. Myspace is just a popularity contest. It needs to be shut down.

On myspace, you can set you profile to private which means no one else can view your profile apart from your myspace friends who you yourself have approved to be your myspace friend.
