Just got them huh? It honestly just takes time and practice. When I got mine, it would take me almost half an hour to just put in one and then the next. Just make sure you rewet the contact in the solution every couple of tries it doesn't go in. Keep you eye open with your fingers and try to look away. When you look away your eye may not react as fast and you will be able to put it in. After a while you will get used to it and will be able to put it in, in like 2 seconds.

Use a mirror. Hold your eyelids open and make sure the contact is positioned to go directly into your eye. Then look really far off to the side so you can't see your finger coming at you. "Poke" your eye, not hard, but as if you're trying to pin the contact to it. Hold your finger there while you look forward again. Gently/slowly start to pull your finger away and roll your eye for a bit until you're sure it's on for the most part. Then blink and your done!

Oh i know how long it took me to wear them the first week!! The way I used 2 do it was when I wore them I held my lower lid open with my middle finger of my right hand and the upper lid open with a finger of left hand. wen wearing my right eye, i looked to the extreme right and placed the contact in the middle and then looked either ways slowly so it would stick to the pupil. and make sure ur finger and eye is dry or the contact will fall out.

You fear the sensation of your finger touching your eye, so you close it to avoid the sensation. Normally a finger touching the eye would be slightly irritating because the salt from your finger will create a burning sensation. But, once you have the contact on your eye it creates a sheild between your finger and your eye and you will not even feel your finger touch your eye when your contact is in. So, to train your mind to accept that it will not hurt to touch your eye, practice touching your contact with your finger while it is in your eye. You will be conditioning yourself to overcome your fear. You may even practice touching your eye without a contact in to understand what that feels like. (Be sure to wash your hands first to get rid of any salt or debris.) It will surprise you - it doesn't hurt. Your eyes automatically flinch when something gets near them - they've done it all your life. You just have to teach them that your fingers are safe. Good luck!

It took me a month to learn to put contacts in. And I didn't learn, it just went in there on accident when I was trying to put it in.

Tip: Don't hold your eye open as wide as you can. It's only natural that you are going to have to blink. Don't aim towards the center of your eye when putting contacts in. Aim towards the part closest toward the nose.

And to answer your question, there are no devices I know of to keep your eyes open while putting them in. You'll just have to get them in yourself.

It takes practice, make sure your fingers & eyelashes are dry otherwise your eyelids will slip from your fingertips & close. The contact will also adhere to your fingertip if your fingertip is wet. Use a lint free cloth to dry your fingertip before trying to insert the lens, you don't want any lint on your lens to cause irritation to your eyes.
