My sister bought a cake with a message on it for the grandparents.
Oh, the way I broke the news about my pregnancy came when I was asked if I wanted a beer with dinner. I said, no, wouldn't be having any for quite some time. They screamed when they figured out why, especially my niece!
When it was my sister's third child, the other kids wore T-shirts that said Big Brother and Big Sister (for future reference.)
Congratulations, by the way. You might want to check out Babycenter.com. I really liked it, because it gave week to week info and there are discussion boards and lots of articles, too.

Beings you were trying to conceive your husband isn't going to be too terribly suprised is he...you don't have to be cute and fancy to tell your husband that your pregnant....there will be time enough for all the cute stuff once the baby gets here.
For the mother-in-law buy her a 'grandma's brag book' for Christmas. She'll get the hint!

Wait until christmas.....Then get an empty slightly big box, and in it but a card, or baby shoe, or something that says "Congrats Grandmother" and wrap it really nicely.
Or get a fake lottery ticket or something of the sort and on it put "Congrats! You have won a beautiful grandchild!"
As for your husband...tell him over a romantic dinner, or just start talking about it like he already knows. That'll give hima happy suprise.
GOOD LUCK! AND CONGRATS!! ;-)

Give her a Christmas card from child to grandma. Or, not sure how far along you are, but if you had a ultrasound picture you could put inside. Or you could have ultrasound picture imposed on something like a T-Shirt and have "I Love My Grandma" put on it.
Congratulations and Best wishes to you and your husband!

For the husband - tell him you're making a special dinner for him. Have "baby" things, like baby carrots and other small, finger foods. See if he catches on.
MIL - buy her a mug or a T-shirt that says, "Worlds best Grandma."
Get creative!

But I am sure your mother in law will be happy and so will your hubby. Just tell them. they will be happy to get imvolved. I would wait to tell the mother in law until you are 12 weeks though. This will eliminate heart break if you happen to have a miscarrage. good luck and congrats.

Tell him "Guess what honey? I peed on the stick and I'm pregnant; yippee!!!!"
As to your MIL, say "Merry Christmas, Mom! You're going to be a young grandma!"

Tell him his docter called and said he only has twenty four hours to live. Once you get him to calm down, tell him you were kidding and that by the way your pregnant.
