The only thing you can do is ask the owners, the only way the owners need to inform you of a death in the home is if the death was a murder. Other than that, it's a personal matter. And if you ask, they DON'T have to tell you. Well that's the way it works in Florida. Good Luck KG

In some states Realtors are allowed to disclose this information, if they know it, and in other states it is against the law for that same disclosure. However, as some of the others have mentioned, depending on the age of the home, you could talk to neighbors or contact the local police department.
If you feel there is something in the house that makes you uncomfortable, I recommend you simply find another house. If you get that little creepy crawly feeling now, before you buy, how are you going to feel on that night when the electricity is out in the middle of a thunderstorm? When buying a house you intend to live in, go with your gut feelings.

check what the disclosure laws are in your state. In Texas, a murder, or death due to a defect on the house must be disclosed. Deaths of natural causes don't have to be disclosed.
How old is the house? People dying of illness often go home to die at home. I would expect that almost every home will eventually have someone pass away there.

Do you hear voice say Get Out in a whisper?
Do the wall run red with blood? Do you look in the mirror and say "REDRUM"
Does it smell like rotten bacon?
If any of these are yes some one may have kicked the bucket there.
